Alexander Wang Fall 2014 - The Prince of Cool

Alexander Wang is always a firm fave of mine when it comes to New York fashion week, whatever he creates just has an effortlessly cool feel to it and Fall 2014 was no exception. The collection which he showed in a location in the heart of Brooklyn focused a lot on outerwear which is what I loved about it, the grey over sized military inspired wool coats and the over the knee length boots went perfectly together and created a more mature look for the Wang customer. Towards the end of the show he injected more colour, print and drama into the clothes with oversized puffa jacket, blue zig zag and paisley prints, which gave the collection a creative more urban edge.

The shoes were a mixture between these two tone over the knee boots which added to the military feel or a similar boot but backless and with a heel towards the end of the show. The bags were a classic box bag which again reminded me of a military style lunch box, if that makes any sense?

In terms of hair and make up, the hair was kept in a stiff comb over, and the make up kept very neutral with bleached brows and subtle contouring. Make up artist Diane Kendal said ' "The head is very hard…so we wanted [to create] an open feel to the face—almost like mannequins," I love this kind of look as it brings out the models natural beauty instead of being piled high with makeup and shadow.
